A True Story

Characters:

1.Jasmine a.k.a Jas- a 17 years old happy-go-lucky girl

2.Snow White- a 18 years old beauty

3.Smith- a guy who doesn't even understand himself

4.Jack- a good friend of Smith

5.Henry- Jas's god brother

6.Rose- best pal of Snow White

The story started in 2006....

Jas was studying in Sec 3 at that time and loves participating in competitions. Through all these competitions she got to know lots of friends including Henry, Jack and Smith. The three young lads were Sec 5 students. Jas was much closer with Henry compared to Smith and Jack. Finally one day...Henry told Jas that he likes her. However, Jas was unmoved. She honestly told Henry that she had no feelings for him and ensured him that he would find his true love someday. Even after Jas rejected Henry, they remained good friends and Henry became Jas's god brother.

Smith was Henry's good pal a few years ago before

Smith became Jack's good friend. When the four of them were practising for competitions with the others, they would often joke around. So, Henry's and his friends always goes around telling everybody that Smith likes a girl since primary sch, named Ariel. Smith admitted it. A few weeks later, Smith got a new phone. Everyday, he would chat with Jas and the two of them became close. He also knew that Henry likes Jas. Not long after that, Smith declared his love to Jas. Jas was stunned, not knowing what to do. She had always thought that Smith took her as a good friend. She was very unsure of her feelings. So, she asked Smith to give her some time to think about that. Smith assured her that he no longer likes Ariel.

Finally, after a month of waiting, Smith got the answer..

Jas agreed to be his girlfriend!! Smith was so happy and excited that no exact words could describe his happiness. Smith treated Jas very nice even though sometimes Jas was very cold towards him in school. Jas even pretended not to know him in front of her friends. It's not that Jas was feeling embarrassed to have a boyfriend like him, Jas was just trying to prevent losing her friends. This was because her friends at that time were all alienating any girls who are attached. Despite being treated so coldly, Smith continued to accompany Jas home everyday, giving her gifts etc..Jas was so touched that she finally admitted to her friends that she's going out with Smith. To her surprise, they didn't alienate her. They just advised Jas not to neglect her studies. Thus, Jas and Smith had a strong relationship for almost three years. Good things never last..This is so true! Why, you asked. The answer will be revealed in the next paragraph...

Well, in Dec 2008. Jas and Smith as usual, work together as part time promoters.

As the work was quite torturing, Smith was very caring towards Jas. He was afraid that she might tired herself out. After the job was over, Smith went to KL for a holiday with his family while Jas went to Malacca. They still kept in touch with each other every night. Coincidentally, they returned on the same day. After Smith came back from his trip, he changed into a completely new person. He asked for a break-up. Jas was so shocked. In only a few days, Smith became a stranger to her. Jas didn't give him answer right away. She asked for a day to think about it.

That night, Jas couldn't sleep at all.

She cried her her heart out and God knows how many packs of tissues she had used. She asked why Smith wanted a break-up. The answer given by Smith was spiralling in her mind. He told her that his feelings for her has changed from lovers to siblings. Jas was still unconvinced. So, Jas contacted his brother, John. She asked John whether something happened when they went to KL. He said nothing happened. Jas told him that his brother initiated a break-up. Then John asked Jas a question..which was did she sms with his brother until very late at night. She replied "No, your brother told me that he's very tired so we both slept early". However, John told Jas that Smith had been sms-ing until 2-3am in the morning everyday when they were in KL. He thought that Smith was chatting with Jas. Jas was totally dumbfounded. Smith cheated her!

John went to peek at his brother's phone. To his horror, Smith has declared his

love to another girl. John forwarded that sms to Jas. Jas was hurt...very deeply. And that girl was Snow White! Jas just couldn't believe what she had just found out.. Snow White...When Smith chased Jas, at that time, Snow White told Smith that she liked him. But, Smith rejected her and didn't give up on Jas. "Why?"Jas kept asking. She just couldn't believe that Smith likes Snow White after they lost contact for such a long time.

But what can Jas do? So, the next day, Jas contacted Snow White and told Snow White that she had decided to give up Smith and sincerely hope that the both of them will be happy. Snow White replied that she and Smith can no longer be together, because she had changed and didn't like him anymore. Then when night came, Jas told Smith that she agreed to break up since there's no point keeping this relationship going when Smith's heart was no longer with her.

Although they had broken up, they still remained friends. Jas asked when did Smith discovered that he has no more feelings for her. Smith told her that 2 years ago, his feelings for her has changed. He said that he likes Snow White since primary school. When he chased her at that time, he was very confused on whether to continue to chased her or to accept Snow White. So, he said that his good friend, Jack, supported and encouraged him not to give up on Jas. He said that Jack even used his phone to send 'cruel' sms-es to Snow White to reject her. Only after he won Jas's heart, he regreted his decision. The only person who knew that he has always like Snow White is Rose, Snow White's best pal. Upon listening to this, Jas broke down once again. At the same time, Jas was angry with Jack for sending those sms-es to Snow White on Smith's behalf. So, Jas scolded Jack for doing that. Jack was startled. He didn't know what exactly was going on. Jack then asked Jas out so that they could discuss calmly. Jas agreed and she told him everything Smith told her. After listening to her story, Jack started to explain. He said that in the first place, when Smith chased her, Smith didn't tell anyone that he likes Snow White at all. All of them only knew that the one Smith likes was Jas. Secondly, Smith never let him use his phone. So, how can he send those sms-es to Snow White on Smith's behalf? Jack said that he didn't even know who Snow White is. Besides, he supported Smith to continue chasing Jas merely because Smith told him that he likes her. Jas was confused. She didn't understand why both of them tell different things. Then, Jack told her, "Men are all the same. They go for novelty. Don't be too sad.." Those words made Jas realised that Smith had lied to her.

A few days later, Jack went out with Smith. Jack pretended that he knew nothing.

Smith showed him Snow White's picture. Snow White has really changed. She is very beautiful now. Even Jack could barely recognise her. Then Smith said, "I shouldn't have listened to you in the past. You see, if you didn't support me to chase Jas, Snow White would have been my girlfriend by now." Jack kept quiet because he knows if he open his mouth, the both of them will start to quarrel.

Jack told Jas that incident. It dawned on Jas that Smith likes Snow White now

purely because she has become beautiful. In the past, it was Smith who send those sms-es to Snow White to reject her, not Jack. Smith did that because he felt that she was not so pretty in the past. Now he wants her back. So, he went around telling everyone that it was not him who rejected her in the past, it was Jack who helped him.Just because Jack went to other place to study, Smith put all the blame on him. Not only that, Smith also told Rose that all the faults laid on Jack. As a result, Rose scolded Jack for causing Smith to make the wrong decision. It was as if the ones who are suffering now are Smith and Snow White. Jas felt that she was the 3rd party all along..For this, Jas had many sleepless nights and poor appetite..Snow White rejected Smith. But Smith said that he would chase her once again when he has succeeded. When Jas heard this, she was devastated. The real victim of this story was Jack. In the past Jack helped Smith so much. Yet, Smith blamed him for everything. Although Jack and Jas knew the truth....they never told Smith..because they know it's pointless.....
